The Pinch expands on our foundational design with a longer 5-inch blade and a professional-grade convex grind. It features the same award-winning tapered bolster that reinforces the professional pinch grip, but with a handle scaled for slightly larger hands. By balancing a professional-grade steel blade with our signature anti-twist geometry, we’ve created a knife that handles everything from dicing bell peppers to slicing through crusty bread with ease.

Yes! The Pinch is engineered with a unique blade geometry and alternating serrations that apply pressure to firm vegetables while remaining gentle on skin. While it is a real tool and should always be used under supervision, it is designed to significantly reduce the risk of accidental cuts.

Can it cut hard vegetables like carrots or potatoes?

Technically, yes. However, similar to professional sharp knives, cutting through large chunks of very dense vegetables (like a whole raw potato or a thick carrot) requires significant downward force. Because the Pinch is designed for safety and smaller hands, we recommend starting with "disks" or smaller pieces. For the best experience, we suggest toddlers use a "bridge" or "claw" grip to maintain stability when prepping firmer produce.

What is the "Pinch Grip" and why does it matter?

The pinch grip is the standard technique used by professional chefs for maximum control and safety. By "choking up" on the blade with the thumb and index finger, the knife becomes an extension of the hand. How do I clean and maintain the knife?
